I’m back with some more Pittsburgh Pirate talk, my favorite thing to do! On Monday, Paul Skenes was announced as the National League Rookie of the Year. It was always going to be him and if you think that it should have been Jackson Merrill of the San Diego Padres, (who did have a great year and was a Pirate killer for the 6 games he played against them this year) then you just don’t know ball. Paul was doing things that nobody in the history of the game was doing.
Which brings me to my next point.
IT IS TIME TO BUILD AROUND HIM. Not only Pirate fans, but baseball fans share the same sentiment. Sure, there are solid pieces there such as Jared Jones, Mitch Keller, O’Neil Cruz, Bryan Reynolds, and others. But as everyone has said for year, they have, and I mean HAVE to go out and sign an impactful free agent bat. Someone like Pete Alonso or even an Anthony Santander. SOMEONE that will provide some life to one of the worst offenses in the league last year. OPEN UP THE POCKET BOOK BOB. The pressure is on and the time is now, the “Abandon Ship Bob. Sell The Team” billboards are going up quickly around the city!
Let’s Go Bucs
